Neal Struggles on Day Two but Remains in the Hunt for Regional Title
May 8, 2007 Complete NCAA DII Men's South Central Regional Scores FLORENCE, Ala. - Three birdies and seven pars helped keep West Texas A&M senior golfer Kent Neal near to the top of the leader board, but Neal could not maintain the impressive pace he set on the tournament's first day as he shot an eight over par 80 on Tuesday at the South Central Regional Tournament. Neal began Tuesday's round, with a birdie and a par before getting one of his six bogies on hole three. After collecting back-to-back bogies five and six, Neal then pared holes number seven and eight to remain just two over on the front nine. Before making the turn at No. 9, the Amarillo native had his fourth bogie on the front to go three over on the day. The back nine began much the initial nine holes of the round as Neal doubled 10 and 11 before paring 13 and 15. Neal closed his day on a hot streak as he was able drop two strokes, by having two birdies on 16 and 17 and paring two other holes. Tee times for the third and final round are yet to be determined.
