WT Men's Golf Receives Commitments from two Colorado Players
May 5, 2008
CANYON, Texas - A pair of talented golfers will make the transition from high school to college golf together as both Chris Keirn and Brandon Schroeder from Horizon High School in Thornton, Colo., have signed letters of intent to join the West Texas A&M men's golf program during the upcoming fall. Keirns is a 5-foot-10, 170 pound player who was selected first team All-Conference and team MVP after serving as team captain to cap off his four-year career on the HHS squad. "Chris has a terrific golf game," said WTAMU men's golf coach Ryan Leaf. "I am confident that he has the abilities to help the team here at West Texas A&M and be an extremely successful college player." Schroeder, at 5-foot-9 and 160 pounds, was also All-Conference performer, carrying a 73.8 stroke average while also garnering MVP honors and serving as a team captain during his prep career. "Brandon is already a very accomplished player, but I believe he hasn't even reached the success that he is capable of," Leaf added. "With there work ethic, both Chris Brandon and Chris will have great impacts on our golf program for years to come."
