The Lone Star Conference announced the 2006 men's golf awards Monday, and West Texas A&M University's Paul Slaughter was selected to the All-Academic team.

Slaughter, who has a 4.00 GPA in Psychology, is an Andrews, Texas native. His top individual finish of the year came in the WTAMu Subway Invitational, where he finished 17th. His low round of the spring was a 72, which he shot on three separate occasions. He has also had seven of 14 rounds at 76 or better this spring.

Southwestern Oklahoma senior Brian Hostetler was named Academic Player of the Year.

Altogether, Central Oklahoma had four honorees, while Abilene Christian, East Central and Southwestern Oklahoma had two each. Seven of the eight LSC teams were represented with at least one honoree.
