Lone Star Conference Announces Men's Golf All-Academic Team

THACKERVILLE, Okla. - West Texas A&M senior Brandon Holub has been named to the Lone Star Conference men’s golf all-Academic Team and junior Roy Holdeman has earned LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll honors, as announced by the league Sunday night. The awards announcement came at a pre-tournament function in Thackerville, Okla., where the LSC Golf Championship will be held on Monday and Tuesday.

The all-Academic team is comprised of WT’s Holub, senior, Gilbert, Ariz.; Northeastern State’s Jeff Cox, senior, Norman, Okla., and Kevin King, senior, Midwest City, Okla.; Abilene Christian’s Patrick Hanauer, senior, Aachen, Germany and Cyril Bouniol, sophomore, Laloubere, France.

Cox was named as LSC Men’s Golf Academic Player of the Year.

Joining Holdeman on the Commissioner’s Honor Roll are Abilene Christian’s Jeff Warr and Charles Levitte; Cameron’s Brett Leavell; East Central’s Michael Vassella; Northeastern State’s Colby Ricks and Brady Wood; Southeastern Oklahoma’s Weslee Vance; Southwestern Oklahoma’s Scott Kulczycki and Luke Phillips and Texas A&M-Commerce’s Danny Jun.

To be eligible for LSC academic honors, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.20 grade point average and be at least a sophomore, both academically and athletically. The Academic Player of Year award and All-Academic Team are selected from the list of academically qualified players, with the league’s sports information directors voting on the basis of both academic and athletic achievement. All qualifying student-athletes not selected for the All-Academic Team are then named to the Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
