WTAMU Men's Golf Tied For Second After First Day Of Play

HINTON, Okla. - The West Texas A&M University men's golf team is tied for second place after the first day of competition at the Southwestern Oklahoma Men's Invitational held at the Sugar Creek/Priaire West Golf Course. This is the final tournament before the Lone Star Conference Championship April 19-20 at Trophy Club, Texas.

Senior Jimmy Jameson leads the way for the golfers after shooting a 71 and 69 respectively, for a combined score of 140. Jameson has a two-shot lead heading into the final round.

In the 16-team field, the Buffs are tied with Central Arkansas after recording a combined score of 592 after the first two rounds. Cameron University leads the competition with a 580.

The Buffs are coming off a strong performance last week at their own WTAMU Subway Invitational where they finished in second place shooting a 879 for three rounds.

The final 18-hole round will be played Tuesday, April 13.
