SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Junior Paul Slaughter finished in a tie for seventh-place to lead the West Texas A&M Univeristy men's golf team to a 10th-place finish at the Drury University/Deerfield Inn Fall Classic at the Hickory Hills Country Club at Springfield, Mo.

WTAMU fired a 321 Tuesday, as the Buffs slipped a spot from Monday, finishing with a combined 632 (311-321). Washburn University (303-292) and Cameron University (300-295) tied for top team honors with 595's, in the field of 15 teams.

Individually, junior Paul Slaughter carded a 1-over 73 on Tuesday to finish with a 148 (75-73). Owen Mahaffey was the top individual with a 143 (72-71).

Junior Spud Dillingham was tied for 43rd with a 159 (77-82), while senior Thomas Maldonado was tied for 56th with a 161 (80-81). Freshman Jonathan Shelley carded a 165 (79-86) to finish in a tie for 62nd, one stroke ahead of fellow freshman Geoff Phemister's 166 (81-85), good for a tie for 64th.
