Buffs Sitting At Ninth After First Round Of Drury Invite

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The West Texas A&M University men's golf team is sitting at ninth after the first round of the Drury University/Deerfield Inn Fall Classic Monday at the Hickory Hills Country Club at Springfield, Mo.
WTAMU carded a combined 311 in Monday's round, as Cameron University sits atop the 15-team leaderboard with a 294.
Individually, junior Paul Slaughter is tied for 10th, with a 3-over 75. Junior Spud Dillingham is tied for 24th with a 77, while freshman Jonathan Shelley is tied for 41st with a 79. One stroke behind with an 80 is senior Thomas Maldonado, who is tied for 48th, while freshman Geoff Phemister is tied for 54th with an 81.
The tournament continues Tuesday, with play shifting to Highland Springs Country Club.
