DUNCAN, Okla. -- The West Texas A&M University men's golf team sits in 12th place after day one of the Cameron University Territory Classic Monday at The Territory Golf Course at Duncan, Okla.

WTAMU carded a combined 317. Texas Wesleyan University leads the 13-team field with a 287.

Junior Spud Dillingham is WTAMU's top golfer after the first round, carding a 1-over 73, and sits in a four-way tie for ninth.

Nick Cristea from St. Edward's University leads with a 3-under 69.

Senior Paul Slaughter is tied for 49th with an 80, two strokes ahead of sophomore Jon Musser and senior Thomas Maldonado, who are both tied for 57th with 82's. Freshman Geoff Phemister is 68th with a 99.

Competing as individuals, freshmen Jonathan Shelley and Joshua Rangel are tied for 42nd with 79's.

The second and final round tees off at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
