The West Texas A&M University men's golf team is in 10th-place after the first day of action at the Charles Coody West Texas Intercollegiate Tournament, hosted by Abilene Christian University at Diamond Back Golf Club at Abilene, Texas.

Josh Luongo is in a eight-way logjam for eighth place, shooting a 74, five strokes behind a three-way tie for first.

The Buffs shot a 304 in the opening round, 18 strokes behind Cameron University who shot a 286.

Action continues Tuesday with 18 holes.
