THACKERVILLE, Okla. – West Texas A&M’s Geoff Phemister tied for eighth place, individually, to help lead the Buffaloes to a fifth-place finish at the Lone Star Conference Championships, held April 20-21, at the WinStar Golf Course in Thackerville, Okla.

The Buffs carded scores of 295-287-282=864 in placing fifth.

Phemister (Senior, Canyon, Texas), who was an LSC all-conference honorable mention, shot scores of 73-70-69-=212 over three rounds to pace the Buffs.

Following Pemister on the Buff scorecard were Tanner White (senior, Fort Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan), who was two strokes back with rounds of 769-70=214 to place in a tie for 17th. Brandon Holub (senior, Gilbert, Ariz.) placed in a tie for 20th with rounds of 73-72-70=215, while Chris Keirns (freshman, Thornton, Colo.) tied for 39th with rounds of 74-76-73=223. Rounding out the Buff’s scoring was Colin Cruz (soph., Amarillo, Texas), who placed 49th with rounds of 77-78-76=231.

Northeastern State won the event with scores of 289-275-281=625, with Central Oklahoma second (281-277-277=835) and Midwestern State third (280-280-280=840).
