WTAMU Golfers In Sixth After First Day At LSC Championships

TROPHY CLUB, Texas -- The West Texas A&M University men's golf team is in sixth-place after the first day of play at the Lone Star Conference Championships.

WTAMU shot a combined 599 after the first two rounds of 18-holes apiece.

Two-time defending champion University of Central Oklahoma is atop the team leaderboard with a 581, just ahead of Cameron University and Northeastern State University, who are tied for second with a 583.

Individually, junior Joshua Luongo and senior Josh Duckworth are part of a four-way logjam for 12th-place with a pair of Texas A&M University-Commerce golfers, carding a three-over 147.

Eric Moore of Northeastern State is atop the individual leaderboard with a four-under 140, shooting a two-under 70 in each round. Cameron's Owen Maheffey and Ryan King are second and third, respectively, after shooting a three-under 141 and a two-under 142. Todd Dayton from Central Oklahoma carded the day's low round with a six-under 66 in the second round to finish the day with a one-under 143 and in fourth-place.

WTAMU senior Jimmy Jameson is tied for 19th-place with a five-over 149, while freshman James Dillinham is tied for 35th with a 158 and junior Chris Washburn is tied for 38th with a 161.

 

 

The tournament wraps up with a final 18-hole round Tuesday.
