Men's Golf Team Finishes Tournament Tied For Sixth

EDMOND, Okla. -- The West Texas A&M University men's golf team earned its second sixth-place finish, while tying with Southwestern Oklahoma University in the University of Central Oklahoma/Kickingbird Classic in Edmond, Okla.
The Buffs, in their tie with the Bulldogs of SWOSU, shot a combined 887, while Cameron University took the first-place honors away from first-day leader Northeastern State, with a one stroke advantage and combined score of 853. Host UCO took fourth-place with a 870 score.
On the individual playing field, it was senior Jimmy Jameson who finished in the top spot for the Buffaloes, tying for 26th with two other golfers with a 220 score and was 10 over par. Luke Antonelli of St. Mary's claimed first-place, carding a 207 and was three under par.
Junior Joshua Luongo tied with seven other golfers for 32nd, earning a 12-over 222. Teammates senior Josh Duckworth finished tied for 40th with a score of 223 and 13 over par, junior Chris Washburn tied for 42nd with a 224 score and was 14 over par. The Buffs fifth golfer freshman James Dillingham finished tied for 65th carding a 235 score and 25 over par.
Both men and women golfers will return home to host the Subway Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, April 5-6. The men will be playing at La Paloma Golf Club, while the women will play at Tascosa Golf Club at Amarillo, Texas.
