Men's Golf Bounces Back From Bad Start To Take 10th

EDMOND, Okla. - After an opening round score of 305 in the Kickingbird Classic, the West Texas A&M men's golf team came back in rounds two and three with tallies of 286 and 289, respectively. The final team's scorecard of 880 served the Buffs with 10th place out of fifteen teams in the tournament hosted by the University of Central Oklahoma. Senior Kent Neal (77-71-70 = 218) led WTAMU finishing in a tie for 36th place overall. Sophomore Geoff Phemister (74-72-73 = 219) and senior Spud Dillingham (78-70-71 = 219) shot identical rounds for a tied finish in 41st place. Freshman Roy Holdeman (76-74-77 = 227) ended his weekend tied for 64th, while junior Jon Musser (83-73-75 = 231) rounded out the club tied for the 73rd spot. Sophomore Jonathan Shelley (74-76-75 = 225), competed as an individual, finishing tied for 55th place. WTAMU will return to Amarillo to host its only tournament of the season at La Paloma Golf Club on April 1-3.
