WTAMU Men's Golf Finishes Tied For Seventh At ECU Classic

The West Texas A&M University men's golf team finished in a tie for seventh place on Tuesday out of the 12-team field that played at the East Central University Oak Hills Spring Classic at the Oak Hills Country Club in Ada, Okla.
The Buff golfers finished with a score of 630 which included a 301 on the first day and a 329 on the second day.
The University Central Oklahoma won the tournament as they shot a 585, Indian Hills College finished second (588), Northeastern State University finished third (596), finishing fourth was Cameron University (601), host team East Central finished fifth (609), Missouri Southern State University finished sixth (629), Lincoln University tied with WTAMU for seventh (630), TAMU-Commerce ended up ninth (631), while 10th was Seminole State College (635), Southeastern Oklahoma State University finished 11th (638), and 12th was University of Incarnate Word (641).
Individually, Brad Risenhoover, from Northeastern State won as he shot a 142 (69-73).
Leading the way for the Buffs was junior Kent Neal who scored a 156 (74-82) and finished in a tie for 28th. Sophomore Jon Musser finished second for the Buffs and 32nd overall as he shot a 76 the first day and a 81 on the second day for a total of 157. Junior Spud Dillingham finished in a tie for 36th, firing a 159 (76-83) and senior Thomas Maldonado finished in a tie for 41st with a 160 (75-85). Rounding out the Buff golfers was junior Paul Slaughter who was tied for 47th with a 162 (79-83).
Next week, WTAMU travels to Edmond, Okla. where the Buffs will compete in the Central Oklahoma Invitational at the Killingbird Golf Club. Tee time will be at 8 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday, March 27 and 28.
The Buffs will host the final tune up before the LSC Conference Championships at La Paloma Country Club in Amarillo with the WTAMU/Subway Invitational on Monday-Tuesday, April 3-4 and tee times will begin at 8 a.m. both days.
