Buff Golfers Finish Day One Tied for 11th

The West Texas A&M Unviersity men's golf team started off their second half of its season tied for 11th place with Navy after the first day of competition, Monday, March 1st, at the Moe O'Brien Memorial Invitational, in Lake Charles, LA hosted by McNeese State University.

In their first competition since October 14, the WTAMU golfers shot for a combined score of 613, 37 strokes above par. Buffs senior Josh Duckworth and junior Joshua Luongo finished nine strokes above par, 153.

Taking the top spot in the tournament was Tulane University who shot seven under par and 569 combined. Michael Thompson took top honors carding 137, seven under par.

The Buffs continue their second day of competition today.

WTAMU will compete a little closer to home March 7th-8th as they travel to Pottersboro, Texas to compete in Crawford/Wade Invite.
