JUNIOR COLLEGE: While at Hill Junior College (Hillsboro, Texas), Nelson played at the number-two spot and helped lead his team to the NJCAA Championship, where the Rebels placed 15th in the team standings. He also finished in the top 10 of several tournaments while at Hill.

HIGH SCHOOL: Nelson recorded the lowest round of the team his junior and senior seasons at Cleburne (Texas) HS. As senior, Nelson also had the lowest average per round on the team. He was a four year letterman in cross country, track and basketball.

PERSONAL: Nelson is the son of John and Connie Nelson. He is majoring in Marketing at WTAMU.
