West Texas A&M Remains Fourth in Division II Football Regional Poll

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – West Texas A&M remained fourth in the NCAA Super Region Four poll, as released by the NCAA Monday. The Buffs’ registered their first shutout of the season this past Saturday, defeating Angelo State, 27-0, in San Angelo, Texas and are currently 8-1 overall, with a 7-1 Division II record. Each of the top six teams in the final regional poll of the season will advance to the NCAA Division II football playoffs, with the top two seeded teams in each region receiving a first-round bye. The LCS again features five teams in the 10-team poll, while the MIAA (Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association) has four teams represented. Other Lone Star Conference-member institutions listed in the rankings are Abilene Christian (No. 1), Texas A&M-Kingsville (No. 8), Tarleton State (No. 9) and Central Oklahoma (No. 10). Slotted between ACU and WT in the Super Regional Four poll are Northwest Missouri State (No. 2) and Pittsburg State (No. 3). WT is fourth, followed by Central Washington (No. 5), Nebraska-Omaha (No. 6), Texas A&M-Kingsville (No. 8), Tarleton State (No. 9) and Central Oklahoma (No. 10). The Buffs host Northeastern State this Saturday, Nov. 1, at Kimbrough Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
