GENERAL: Coming from a very strong high school program, Slater will be looking to utilize his talents in the WT secondary

2008: Redshirt season.

HIGH SCHOOL: A three-year starter in the secondary for Houston Cy-Ridge HS, Slater earned all-District 17-5A honors. He helped lead the 11-2 Rams to both District 17-5A and Area championships in 2007. As a junior in 2006, Slater recorded 72 tackles, two interceptions, three pass break-ups and one forced fumbled. He played wide receiver during his sophomore season, grabbing over 20 receptions.

MAJOR: Slater has not declared an academic major at WTAMU.
