GENERAL: Having taken a redshirt a year ago, this area native will be looking to provide depth regarding the Buffs' placekicking duties.

2008: Redshirt season. Phillips was 2-for-2 on point-after attempts during the Maroon-White game.

HIGH SCHOOL: As a defensive back and kicker at Amarillo (Texas) Bushland HS, Phillips was selected first team all-District at running back, defensive back and kicker. He also earned first team all-State honors at the kicker position after converting 13-of-17 field goal attempts in 2007, with a long of 52 yards. He finished the season perfect on field goal attempts from 39 yards and out, a figure which included four attempts of 47+ yards. Phillips was also 46-of-49 on point-after tries.

MAJOR: Phillips is a Pre-Engineering major at WTAMU.
