General: An all-around performer, McKnight is capable of breaking the long run anytime he touches the football. 2007: McKnight topped all NCAA Division II kick returners with his 33.5 ypr. average, returning 14 kicks for 469 yards. He had five returns of 30+ yards, including two of 80 yards or more (83 yards vs. Washburn and 82 yards vs. Adams State). He enjoyed a three-return, 158 yard performance in the Buffs' NCAA Playoff win over Washburn, had three returns for 75 yards with a long of 39 against Eastern New Mexico and had a lone return for 36 yards against Northeastern Okla. At running back, he had 58 carries for 315 yards and three TDs, averaging 5.4 yards per carry and 28.6 yard per game. He also caught 22 passes for 163 yards (7.4 ypr) and one TD. Junior College: McKnight played two seasons at Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Texas. He was named all-Conference as both a kick returner and punt returner following his sophomore season. High School: A 2005 graduate of Cedar Hill (Texas) HS, McKnight lettered in both football and track. He earned all-District 8-5A first team honors his junior and senior seasons as both a running back and kick returner. He was also recognized as the Male Athlete of the Year at the conclusion of his senior year. Major: McKnight is majoring in Sports & Exercise Science. |
