General: The dependable Johnson has proven to be among the top punters in the Lone Star Conference, averaging 40.1 yards per punt over his career. 2007: Over 13 games, Johnson ranked fifth among LSC punters, with 41 punts for 1,650 yards and a 40.0 ypp. average. That average would have ranked among the top-25 nationally, however the WT offensive unit's proficiency limited the number of punting opportunities which Johnson had, thus he didn't meet the required 3.1 punts per contest. His long was a 55-yarder and all told, Johnson booted six punts of 50 or more yards (55 twice- vs. Washburn and vs. Texas A&M-Kingsville, 54 at Midwestern State, 52 at Northeastern Okla., 51 vs. Adams State and 50 vs. Angelo State). He also placed seven punts inside the opponent's 20 yard line and has 17 such efforts for his career. 2006: Johnson earned first team all-LSC honors after producing one of the best seasons by a punter in recent WTAMU football history, averaging 40.3 yards per kick on 47 punts. He pinned opponents inside their own 20 yard line on 10 occasions, while also collecting six additional punts of 50 or more yards. He tied a school record with an 86-yard punt during the Nov. 4th road victory over Central Oklahoma. 2005: Johnson played one season at Concordia University in Seward, Neb.
