General: Ellis made his mark as both a special teams player as well as providing depth in the defensive secondary. This year, he'll be looking to become a regular in the defensive backfield. 2007: Ellis saw action in 12 games and was credited with 10 tackles (five solo, five assisted). He also had one pass breakup to his credit. 2006: Ellis played sparingly for the Buffs as freshman, primarily seeing action on special teams. He recorded two tackes (one solo, one assisted), forced one fumble and recovered a pair of fumbles. High School: Ellis graduated from Plainview (Texas) HS in 2005, where he lettered in football, basketball and track & field. He earned football all-Area and all-South Plains honors during his senior campaign as a defensive back and quarterback, while also earning All-District 4A honors in both basketball and track.
