Buffs Sign Four More To 2006 Recruiting Class

West Texas A&M University men's basketball head coach Rick Cooper announced four more signings for the Buffs 2006-07 season. Guards Knowledge Miller and Pierre Barlow and post players Andre Hill and Brian Carlyle signed National Letters of Intent to give the Buffs five total recruits this off-season.
Miller, a 6-2 guard from New York City, NY, played two years at Arizona Western on a team that went to the National Junior College Tournament both seasons. He averaged 12.3 ppg, shooting 41% FG, 3.3 rpg and 1.6 steals. He led Arizona Western to a 25-5 record last year while going 29-1 the year before. He was the MVP of the Region 1 tournament.
"Knowledge is a good guard who comes to us after having two years with a very good coach and having much success. Knowledge's experience and ability will be a great addition to our team."
Barlow, a 6-2 guard from Forest, MS, played two seasons for East Central Community College in Decatur, MS. Finishing 16-11, ECCC appeared in the regional tournament for the first time in 10 years. Pierre averaged 8.7 ppg, 3 rpg, 2 apg, and 2.4 steals. Pierre was voted Defensive Player of the Year for ECCC.
"Pierre will bring athleticism and defensive energy that will fit well with the our style of play."
Hill, a 6-9 post from Lamar, CO, played the past year at Lamar Community College. Andre averaged 8.8 ppg and 8 rpg for a Lamar team that finished the season with a 14-17 ledger.
"Andre is an aggressive post player inside who has the ability to block shots, rebound and score on the interior. We look forward to having him in the paint for us next year."
Carlyle, a 6-7 post from Twin City, GA, played the past two years at Atlanta Metro College. AMC played an abbreviated schedule this year because of administrative decisions, but still made it into the Georgia State semifinal game. Brian averaged 7.6 ppg, shooting 53% from the field and 7 rpg.
"Brian is another good post player who has athleticism and ability to play inside, Brian bring more depth to our teams frontline."
WTAMU won the LSC Championship with an overall record of 23-8 and 9-3 in LSC-South Division action. The Buffs will return seven players from this year's squad after advancing to the NCAA-II South Central Regional Quarterfinals.
