CANYON, Texas - In just one season wearing a Buffalo uniform, Robert Lee made his impression on the tradition-rich West Texas A&M men's basketball program and this week added another accolade to his outstanding senior season as he was selected first team National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-South Central Region.

Lee, a native of Fort Worth, Texas, was the Buffs' most potent offensive weapon during their run to the postseason, averaging a team-high 18.3 points per game and topping the 30 point mark on four occasions. Additionally, Lee contributed 5.5 rebounds per contest and racked up a team-leading 41 steals. During Lone Star Conference South Division play, Lee elevated his game to a higher level by averaging a division-leading 21.1 points per game to capture LSC South Player of the Year honors.

Joining Lee on the NABC All-South Central first team were Sam Belt (Central Oklahoma), Cory Abercrombie (Pittsburg State), Matt Rogers (Southwest Baptist), Scooby Johnson (Texas A&M-Commerce) and Avery Patterson (Tarleton State).

In addition to Lee, West Texas A&M head coach Rick Cooper was selected as the NABC South Central Coach of the Year after leading the Buffs to a Lone Star Conference South Division title and a seventh NCAA-II Regional appearance during his 15-year tenure at the helm of the program. For Cooper, the Regional Coach of the Year accolade is his second, having also garnering the achievement following the 1997-98 season.
