CANYON, Texas - After enduring the riggers of a long season and a rash of injuries, the West Texas A&M men's basketball team is where it hoped to be as the squad prepares to take the court Saturday night for its season finale; playing for the Lone Star Conference South Division regular season championship. The Buffs will entertain the Midwestern State Mustangs in an 8 p.m. contest at the First United Bank Center with the winner of the affair taking home the leagues' top spot.

WTAMU (17-8, 9-2 LSC-S) will be looking for a measure of revenge against MSU after the Mustangs downed the Buffs by the score of 90-81 in Wichita Falls back on Jan. 27. The loss fueled the Buffs as they have won seven straight contests since that meeting.

Senior Damien Lolar led the way with 27 points on 8-of-15 shooting in the previous loss the Mustangs. The Arkansas City, Kan., native leads the LSC in scoring with an average of 23.4 points per game. Senior Kevin "Chip" Green and Chris Hinz were also productive, each finishing with double-digit scoring against MSU back on Jan. 27.

The Mustangs enter the contest with an overall record of 17-8 and a conference mark of 8-3. If they were to defeat the Buffs on Saturday night, they would earn the league title by virtue of their two head-to-head victories against WTAMU.

Saturday night is also Buff Bonanza Night where thousands of dollars will be raffled off. Tickets can be purchased at the game and Cheer Texas will perform.
