CANYON, Texas - Riding a hot streak which has seen it win 10 of its last 11 contests to climb to the top of the Lone Star Conference South Division standings, the West Texas A&M men's basketball team will put its record on the line Wednesday when the squad hosts the dangerous Javelinas of Texas A&M-Kingsville. Tip-off from the First United Bank Center is slated for 8 p.m.

The Buffs ended their season long five-game road trip last Wednesday in dramatic fashion, escaping Wichita Falls with an 86-83 overtime win over Midwestern State before returning to the First United Bank Center for the first time since mid-January on Saturday night, where they handed rival Eastern New Mexico a 72-58 defeat.

Senior Chris Hinz was impressive against the Greyhounds, finishing with a season-high 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting, while classmate Pierre Barlow produced a career-high 15 points in the win.

Trailing on the road against a tough MSU team, the Buffs needed someone to step up and senior Robert Lee answered his team's call. The Fort Worth, Texas, native was monumental in the Buffs' win in Wichita Falls, posting 15 points in the opening half, but saving much of heroics for overtime, when he scored eight of the Buffs' 16 points. On Saturday, Lee added 16 points and right rebounds in WT's victory over ENMU.

The Buffs currently sit atop the LSC South Division with an 8-1 record in conference play, a half game up on Tarleton State, who holds a 7-1 league mark and will make a visit to the First United Bank Center on Saturday.

The Javelinas currently sit in third place in the division standings with a 16-8 overall mark and a 5-4 record in conference play.
