Lolar Named LSC South Player of the Week
Feb. 19, 2007 CANYON, Texas - Currently enjoying a standout senior campaign and after helping guide the West Texas A&M men's basketball team to a pair of wins and to the top of the Lone Star Conference South Division standings, forward Damien Lolar has been named LSC South Player of the Week for the second time this season. Lolar, the LSC's leading scorer on the year at 23.6 points per game, continued his dominant play last week he helped the Buffs claim their fifth and sixth consecutive victories giving them nine wins in their last 10 trips on the court. The senior forward contributed 15 points and eight rebounds on Wednesday as WTAMU avenged an earlier loss to ASU with a blowout victory, 86-56. The Arkansas City, Kan., native continued his run of impressive play into the weekend as he contributed his 10th double-double of the season with 27 points and 13 rebounds on Saturday in a road win over ACU. The rest of the Buffs and Loar are back in action this week as they wrap up their regular season with a pair of critical LSC South contest. WTAMU will take to the road to battle Tarleton State on Wednesday before returning to the First United Bank Center for Senior Night on Saturday.
