CANYON, Texas - For the first time in two weeks, the West Texas A&M men's basketball team will take the floor on its home court at the First United Bank Center as the team host Lone Star Conference South Division foe Abilene Christian in a 4 p.m. contest on Saturday afternoon.

The start time for the game, which was originally slated for 8 p.m., was moved forward to accommodate the travel schedule of both ACU's men's and women's squads which will be forced to traverse through winter road conditions on their return trip to Abilene. Tip-off of for the women's contest is set for 2 p.m.

The Buffs will be looking to get back on a winning track on Saturday after suffering a pair of tough road losses during their last two outings. WTAMU enters the game with a 7-7 record on the year, while ACU enters the contest on a down slide itself, having lost its last three contests, including an 86-82 contest to Eastern New Mexico in Abilene on Thursday. The Buffs have had control of the series in recent history, winning the last 14 meetings between the two schools, having not dropped a game to the Wildcats since the 1999 Regional Tournament which was held in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Individually for WTAMU, senior forward Damien Lolar maintained the impressive level of play he has shown all season long during the Buffs last outing, scoring 33 points to go along with 16 rebounds against Angelo State. The Arkansas City, Kan., native, who has collected nine double-double this season, is averaging 10.4 rebounds per contest to compliment his LSC-leading 25.0 points per game clip.

Senior Kevin "Chip" Green has also stepped up his game of late, averaging 17.3 points per game during his last three contests, including a season-high 22 points performance against the Rams on Thursday.

In addition to the exciting Lady Buff and Buff basketball action, the WTAMU athletics department also has several ticket promotions and other attractions planned. Saturday is high school day, in which all high school students will be admitted for only one dollar.

Also during halftime of the women's contest the PIPS (Players in Progress) will put on a skills performance, while at halftime of the men's game WTAMU will honor its fall athletic teams and several individuals who have been recognized for there outstanding efforts on the field.

Lastly, Saturday marks the first date of the $5,000 student giveaway, in which Buffalo athletics will give $5,000 to a WTAMU student drawn at random. The student must be present to win, so make sure to come out to support the Buffs and Lady Buffs and have your chance to win $5,000.
