COMMERCE, Texas - Trailing by two points with only one second remaining in the contest, junior guard Moshn Said stepped to the line and sank three clutch free throws to propel the West Texas A&M men's basketball team to a 65-64 road victory on Thursday night over Texas A&M-Commerce in Lone Star Conference crossover play at the TAMU-Commerce Fieldhouse.

The win boosts the Buffs' overall record this season to 4-5 while the team's mark in road contests improves to 3-1 on the year. Texas A&M-Commerce, meanwhile, drops its second consecutive game to fall to 5-4 on the year.

Senior Damien Lolar continued his impressive play on Thursday night, particularly in the first half, where he connected on six field goals and added 6-of-7 attempts from the free throw line for 18 first half points, helping to send the Buffs to the locker room with a 39-36 advantage.

Lolar extended his string of 20+ point games to all nine games of the season, finishing with a game-high 27 points on 9-of-19 shooting from the floor. The Arkansas City, Kan., native also collected his team-leading fifth double-double of the season, hauling down 10 rebounds to go along with his 27 points.

Free throw shooting was again an area of strength for the Buffs, as they converted on 11-of-14 second half attempts, including Said's three straight to seal the victory. The Oakland, Calif., native finished the night with 14 points, including a 2-of-4 mark from long distance.

The student-athletes of the West Texas A&M men's basketball team will enjoy a few days away from the court as they complete final exams for the fall semester before they return to action on Dec. 16 when they host Wayland Baptist in a 6 p.m. contest at WT's First United Bank Center.
