Poor Shooting Leads To WTAMU's First Loss of Season In 70-66 Defeat At Cameron

LAWTON, Okla. -- Poor shooting led to the West Texas A&M University men's basketball team's first loss of the season, as the Buffs fell to the Cameron University Aggies, 70-66, Thursday night at CU's Aggie Gym at Lawton, Okla.
WTAMU shot a paltry 38.9 percent (21-of-54) from the field on the night, including 29.2 percent (7-of-24) in the first half, including 0-of-8 from behind the 3-point arc. The Buffs hit 3-of-9 3-pointers after halftime to finish 3-of-17 (.176) 3-point shooting for the game, as WTAMU lost for the first time after a 5-0 start.
Junior guard Damien Lolar led the Buffs with 13 points, while seniors, forward Patrick Culver and guard Steve Jackson posted 11 points each.
Lolar pulled down a game-high nine rebounds, helping WTAMU to a 38-34 rebounding edge, but WTAMU committed 17 turnovers, two more than CU.
Cameron had three players in double-digits, led by Matt Reid's 22 points.
WTAMU heads to Weatherford, Okla. to tangle with Southwestern Oklahoma State University at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1. SWOSU is 1-6 after winning its first game of the season Thursday night with a 61-43 victory over Eastern New Mexico.
