WT Men's Basketball Falls to Adams State 67-55

ALAMOSA, Colo. - Senior post Andre Hill converted 6-of-7 field goal attempts for 13 points and pulled down a team-high seven rebounds but it was not enough to lift the West Texas A&M men's basketball team to a day two victory at the Grizzly Tip Off Classic as the Buffs fell to tournament-host Adams State, 67-55. WTAMU (1-1) shot 44.8 percent from the floor in the first half, but went to the intermission trailing by a bucket at 31-29. In the second half, the Buffs but were not able to maintain the tempo as they connected on just nine of 26 second half shot attempts. The Grizzles, meanwhile, were hot from the floor after halftime, shooting 60 percent (15-of-25) to outscore WT 36-26 in the period and improve to 2-0 on the season. Junior guard Kyle Shield collected his second straight double-digit scoring game to start the season, finishing with a team-high 14 points. Senior forward Tyler Cooper also enjoying a solid performance as the Amarillo, native, posted 11 points and six rebounds on the night. The Buffs are back in action next weekend as they host the Buffalo Thanksgiving Classic at the First United Bank Center.
