GENERAL - This junior transfer should provide WT with a physical presence inside, as well as bringing versatility along with depth under the boards.

MISSISSIPPI STATE - During 2008-09, Holcombe averaged 3.0 points and 2.0 rebounds per contest in seven games at Mississippi State. During that time, he also shot 57.1 pct. from the floor and 66.7 percent from the charity stripe. After suffering a season-ending injury early in the season, he was granted medical redshirt status.

JUNIOR COLLEGE - Holcombe averaged 13.4 points and 7.3 rebounds per game this past season at Georgia Perimeter College in Decatur as a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Second Team all-American and Region 17 Player of the Year. He helped lead coach Alfred Barney's 23-12 Jaguars to a third straight NJCAA Tournament appearance after winning the District 10 championship and claiming both the Georgia Junior College Athletic Association (GJCAA) regular-season and postseason tournament titles. Holcombe had eight 20-point efforts as a sophomore, including a 24-point showing (10-16 FGs) in GPC's first-round NJCAA Tournament game against South Plains College He closed out the month of January with three double-doubles over a four-game span, including 21-point, 13-rebound outings against both Middle Georgia College and Atlanta Metropolitan College. He connected on all eight field-goal attempts and hit 5-of-6 free throws versus Atlanta Metro and followed that effort with 20 points (7-9 FGs) and 11 boards against Truett-McConnell College. Holcombe sat out the 2006-07 campaign at GPC as a redshirt due to a leg injury. He averaged 11.3 points and 6.5 rebounds per contest as a freshman to collect All-Region 17 First Team honors for the 29-8 Jaguars in 2005-06 and capped his collegiate rookie season by receiving the 2006 NJCAA Charles Sesher Sportsmanship Award at the national tournament in Hutchinson, Kan.

HIGH SCHOOL - Holcombe averaged 27.3 points and 11 rebounds per outing for coach Floyd McRae's Creekside HS (Fairburn, Ga.) Seminoles in 2004-05. A second-team all-city selection, he was also named the South Fulton Player of the Week and earned a spot on the Atlanta Tip-Off Club's Team of the Month in January 2005, following a 40-point, 19-rebound performance against McIntosh High. Holcombe was a multi-sport athlete, being a two-time South Atlanta Metro cross country champion and two-time all-region cross country performer while at Creekside. He established a school record with a 5K effort of 16:54 and also helped lead the 2005 Seminole track squad to a fourth-place team finish at the 2005 Georgia Class AAAA track and field championships. He qualified in the high jump at the 2005 state meet with a personal-best record of 6-6 and posted a personal-best mark of 49.85 in the 400 meters, while also participating in the 300-meter hurdles as a prep senior.
