GENERAL - Having served as a role player in the Buffs' guard rotation last season, this Metroplex product will be looking to see more action in the WT backcourt in 2009-10. 2008-09 - Fernandez saw action in five contests during the season. He saw his initial action at New Mexico Highlands, where he grabbed one rebound in three minutes of action. He tallied his initial point, as well as corralling one rebound, during a three minute stint at East Central and saw a season-high five minutes of activity at Eastern New Mexico.

JUNIOR COLLEGE- Fernandez spent the 2007-08 season as a point and shooting guard for coach Ron McDowell's Cedar Valley Community College Suns. The previous year, he played at Navarro College.

HIGH SCHOOL- A first-team all-District 14-4A guard for coach Preston Foster's Red Oak (Texas) HS Hawks, Fernandez was also an honorable mention all-State honoree.

PERSONAL - Fernandez is the son of Connie and Guy Fernandez. He is majoring in Business Management while at WTAMU.
