Buffs Set to Host Lone Star Conference Rival Eastern New Mexico This Weekend

CANYON, Texas - The West Texas A&M baseball team's series this weekend against Eastern New Mexico originally scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Conner Park has been moved to doubleheaders Friday and Saturday due to chances of inclement weather across the Texas Panhandle Saturday night. The twin bills are scheduled for 2 p.m. on both days, with game two following approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one. The Buffs will hope to finish their 2008 season strong, as well as end their eight seniors' college careers with big wins against Lone Star Conference foe Eastern New Mexico. The Greyhounds enter this weekend's series with a 22-26 overall record and a 15-21 mark in the LSC, which currently puts them in eighth place in the conference standings. ENMU will hope to improve their status this weekend, and put themselves into contention for the six team LSC Tournament. Senior second baseman Brian Schupp leads the dangerous WT offense, hitting .381 at the plate with 60 RBI. Schupp's 17 home runs this season places him tied for second in the LSC and ranks him eighth nationally. Another one of the WT seniors hoping to have a big series is outfielder Justin Graham, coming into this weekend with a season high 12 game hitting streak On the season, Graham is hitting .299 on the season with 21 RBI and three home runs.
