Sophomore Justin Graham leads the Buffs offense with a .396 batting average

The West Texas A&M University baseball team looks to snap a five game losing skid this weekend, when they play host to Tarleton State in their final home games of the 2006 campaign. The 20-25 Buffs, who are 5-7 in Lone Star Conference South division play will meet the 16-30 Texans in a pair of twinbills beginning on Friday, who are 2-6 in LSC games, April 21 at 2 p.m. and wrapping up on Saturday, April 22 at 1 p.m. at Potter County Memorial Stadium.

WTAMU is led by sophomore centerfielder Justin Graham, whose .396 average and .445 on base percentage lead the team. Graham is eighth in the conference in batting average. Sophomore designated hitter Brady Ribinskas leads the Buffs with 29 RBI and five home runs, while junior left fielder Cody Dean sits atop the leaderboard in hits and doubles with 53 and 10 respectively. Sophomore lefthander Jessie Rodriguez, whose 5.96 ERA is a team low among starters, also leads the team with 51 strikeouts and 68.0 innings pitched. Senior reliever Patrick Wallis posts a 5.40 ERA in 31.2 innings over 17 appearances

Tartleton State's Ryan Howard leads the Texan offensive with team highs in average (.359), home runs (12) and RBI (35). Catcher Daniel Bruce's 12 doubles lead the team, while Jeremy Roberts tops the starting pitchers with a 3.24 ERA over 25.0 innings. Brandon Gowins is the team's number one starter, having started nine games for the Texans, and boasts an ERA of 5.29 in 49.1 innings, both second on the team.
