CANYON, Texas - After opening the season on the road, the West Texas A&M baseball team takes the field at home this weekend with games against Lone Star Conference opponent East Central. The Buffs (1-5) play one game beginning at 1 p.m. on Friday, a doubleheader at 1 p.m. on Saturday and a single game at 1 p.m. on Sunday; all games will be played at Canyon High School's Conner Park.

Last week, WT faced No. 10 Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Okla., and came away with three losses, despite coming alive at bat in game three. The Buffs challenged UCO by scoring seven runs in the top of the seventh inning to tie the game at 14-14, but the Bronchos were able to score a run in their last at-bat to win.

East Central comes into Canyon with an overall record of 4-8 after splitting games at Texas A&M-Kingsville last weekend.

After games this weekend, WT travels to College of the Southwest and Southwestern Oklahoma before playing at home again on March 4 against Panhandle State.
