Buff Baseball Swept By Angelo State University This Weekend

The West Texas A&M University baseball team dropped both games Saturday against Lone Star Conference opponent Angelo State University to complete the four-game sweep by the Rams at Potter County Memorial Stadium. After falling in game one, 19-6, the Rams completed the series sweep, winning, 15-2. WTAMU is now 0-8 all-time against second-year program ASU after being outscored 54-11 for the weekend.
WTAMU drops to 20-24 on the season and 5-7 in LSC play, while ASU advances to 31-14 overall and 8-4 in the South division.
On the weekend, sophomore Justin Graham went 6-15 (.400). Graham has now hit safely in 19 of the last 22 games for the Buffs. Graham is leading the team in batting, hitting .398 for the year and .477 in LSC South action.
The Buffs left 37 runners on base for the series, leaving the bases loaded six times without scoring a run.
WTAMU's pitching staff went 0-4 with a 14.06 ERA. They averaged two wild pitches hit two batters a game. They balked four times and allowed 26 extra-base hits, including six home runs. WTAMU allowed 50 earned runs while striking out only eight Rams and walking 12.
The Buffs will host Wayland Baptist University Tuesday, April 18, for one nine-inning affair, starting at 4 p.m. at Potter County Memorial Stadium in Amarillo.
