LAWTON, Okla -

LAWTON, Okla. - West Texas A&M suffered a 19-8 loss to Cameron in the second game of an LSC doubleheader Saturday afternoon at McCord Field in Lawton, Okla.

This loss drops the Buffaloes to a 18-24 overall, 11-21 LSC, while Cameron improves to 31-10, 23-9 LSC.

Cameron took an early lead on Blake Watson's RBI double to right field. The RBI was followed by Chirs Caves' RBI infield single. 

WT's Tyler Reagan homered in the second inning to cut the deficit to 2-1,  but Cameron answered back with five runs in the bottom of the second.  Josh Barnett's three-run homer supplied the bulk of the ammunition.

The third inning saw the Aggies add to their lead as Nate Arevalo's bases-loaded double to left center drove home three runs. Then, Blake Watson grounded into double play which scored a fourth run, giving the Aggies an 11-1 lead.

The Buffs managed two runs in the fourth, as they strung together three hits in the inning.  Tyler Reagan led off with a single, followed by Sean Winstead's double to left-center.  Tyson Hickman then singled to right, scoring Reagan.  Christian Figueroa would ground into a one-out fielder's choice to drive in Winstead.


 

 

Cameron answered with five more runs in the bottom of the inning, pushing the lead to 16-3.

In the sixth, Cameron's Josh Barnett homered and teammate Clint Powell hit a two-run double to left field bringing, making the score 19-3 in favor of the Aggies..

The Buffaloes plated five runs during the seventh.  Will McLaughlin's two-run double was key to the rally, but the game ended due to the run-rule.

Logan Grimes (7-0) picked up the win for Cameron, while WT's Billy Zeleznak (0-1) took the loss as he lasted just 1.1 innings, allowing eight hits and seven runs (five earned).  Brandon Hickey pitched 1.2 innings, allowing four runs on four hits and Adam Kramer worked the final three innings, giving up eight runs on eight hits.

The Buffs play their final home series of the season next weekend when they host Southeastern Oklahoma in a four-game series next Friday and Saturday, April 10-11.  First pitch next Friday is set for 4 p.m. CDT.
