2009: Winstead saw limited time behind the plate for the Buffs in 2009, making 13 appearances and starting three games as a sophomore. He recorded a .353 as a batting average with 17 at-bats, six hits, four doubles, and two RBIs. His best offensive performance came on Feb. 7 as he went 1-for-1 at the plate with an RBI double in an 11-1 win against Sul Ross State.

High School: Winstead graduated from Serra HS (California) in 2008. He was a catcher and pitched for the Conquistadors under head coach Brian Basteyns. He led the team to a 21-10 record as a senior in 2008.

Major: Winstead is a Mechanical Engineering major at West Texas A&M.
