RICHARDSON, Texas – West Texas A&M has placed 148 student-athletes on the 2016-17 Lone Star Conference Spring Commissioner's Honor Roll announced on Tuesday afternoon by the league's offices in Richardson, Texas. A total of 1,116 student-athletes from across the LSC were honored for their efforts in the classroom.
 
The Commissioner's Honor Roll is announced at the conclusion of the fall and spring semesters with student-athletes qualifying based on grade point average for the current semester. To be eligible for the honor roll, student-athletes must have a minimum 3.30 GPA for the current semester and be on the roster.
 
Eastern New Mexico placed the highest number of student-athletes on the honor roll with 155 members followed by West Texas A&M in second with 148 honorees, Texas A&M-Commerce ranked third (131) followed by Angelo State and UT Permian Basin tied for fourth (119).
 
The final count included 332 students with a perfect 4.0 GPA for the semester. Texas A&M-Commerce led the list of flawless marks with 44 individuals, while ASU had 43, ENMU 36, and WT 35. Football and women's track and field shared the top spot on the list of perfect marks with 40 each, followed by softball (37), volleyball (31), and women's soccer (29).
