Second Round Results
AURORA, Colo. – The West Texas A&M Lady Buffs remained 11
th at the 2016 NCAA Division II Women's Golf National Championship with a second round score of 311 on the par 72, 6,468-yard CommonGround Golf Course. WT has a 620 score through 36-holes with two rounds remaining.
Halfway through, Rollins, last year's runner-up opened up an eight-stroke lead (578) heading into tomorrow's third round. Rollins was tied with Nova Southeastern entering today's round. Indianapolis is second (586), followed by Dallas Baptist (591), Nova Southeastern (592) and Saint Leo rounds out the top five with a 599 score. Indianapolis moved up to second from sixth with the low-round of the day with a 286.
Tarleton State is sixth with a 601 score, followed by Findlay at 602 and there is a tie for eighth between Grand Valley State, Augustana (S.D.) and Northeastern State with a 606 score. The Lady Buffs are 11
th with a 620 score, followed by Missouri Western State at 636.
Individually, Rollins' Hally Leadbetter leads the field with a 3-under 141 on rounds of 72 and 69. Teammate Paige Lyle is in a four-way tie for second at 1-under with Augustana's Marisa Toivonen, Grand Valley State's Gabrielle Shipley and Central Oklahoma's Daniela Martinez. Martinez qualified for the national championship individually.
For the Lady Buffs, freshman
Kaylin Milholland fired a team-low 75 as she is tied for 40
th with a 153 after a 78 Wednesday. Sophomore
Mattye Mason is tied for 47
th with a 154 on rounds of 78 and 76. Senior
Glory Jangthongsiri is tied for 52
nd with a 155 score on rounds of 77 and 78. Senior
Whitlee Woods is tied for 60
th with a 158 score (76 – 82) and freshman
Alexandria Massie is 66
th with a 160 on rounds of 78 and 82.
