CANYON, Texas - The annual West Texas A&M Athletic Awards Banquet will be held Friday, May 1, at 7:00 p.m. CST, at the First United Bank Center. The banquet recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of WTAMU's student-athletes during the 2008-09 academic year.

Additionally, All-American awards, as well as Senior awards, will be presented.

This year's banquet will feature Pro Football Hall of Fame-member Thurman Thomas. Thomas, a five-time Pro Bowl selection, helped lead the Buffalo Bills to an unprecedented four-consecutive Super Bowl appearances in the early 1990's and still holds numerous NFL and Buffalo Bill records. He was also a two-time All-American as a collegian at Oklahoma State.
